TUEV SUED found out on the annual valuers day in March 2010, that up to 25 % of road users can be saved by supporting an environmentally-compatible style of driving.
The Federal Office for Environment is advising to further reduction of carbon dioxide and pollutant emissions:
• Continuous development of the European emissions legislation with special focus on permanent compliance of the threshold value during vehicle durability
• Development of alternative drive technologies, if impact on the environment will be reduced and advantages (energy consuption, pollutant emission, noise) will be achieved to conventional drives
• Driver training for energy saving and low-emission way of driving
• Impact of traffic avoidance actions, e.g. short distances and raising the occupancy and the loading capacities (carpools, freight exchanges etc.)
• Impact of transfer cars and truck traffic to less environmental carries
